Lend a Hand...
Come and join in what's happening this month at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Spring Hill, Florida — the little church with a big heart and room for everyone! We're all works in progress in God's eyes, so come grow in Christ with us!

Nativity Fast (November 15 - December 24): The Nativity Fast starts on November 15 and runs through December 24. During it, we prepare to celebrate the Nativity of Jesus Christ on December 25 through enhanced almsgiving, prayer, and fasting (Matthew 6:1-18), which are ways of focusing less on ourselves and more on God and neighbor in the spirit of love he taught us by word and deed. It is also a good time to take stock of our lives and clear our consciences in the sacrament of confession, offered after any worship service in church or by special appointment with our parish presbyter, Father Michael Shuster.
Put Compassion Into Action: Jesus said how we treat those in need is how we treat him (Matthew 25:31-46). Practice the love of neighbor he commanded in his gospel (Mark 12:31) by bringing your weekly gifts to church on Sunday to help disadvantaged children, women and men locally through the Dawn Center and Westside Elementary School. Items needed: canned and nonperishable food, personal hygiene products, baby care supplies, school supplies, children's arts and crafts supplies, new or gently used and clean clothing. Also needed: greeting card front covers, Campbell Soup labels and Box Tops for Education coupons (found on many nonperishable food packages) for Saint Jude's Ranch for Children, which rescues children of all races and religion from abuse, neglect and abandonment.
Birthdays: Best wishes to Nancy Kastelan (December 1), Father Michael Miklos (December 3), Diane Orloff (December 9), Stephen Kuzmiak (December 25), and Timothy Hostnick (December 27).
God grant them many, blessed years in health and salvation!
"Let your light shine..." (Matthew 5:16). This month's vigil candles in front of the icons noted are prayerfully offered for the people and intentions listed by the donors named. Please remember all of them in your prayers.

Don't forget! Sign-up sheets for prayer and memorial service requests, vigil candle sponsors, bulletin sponsors, website sponsors, coffee hour hosts and help with the church building and grounds are in the loose-leaf binder in the back of the church. Please lend a hand and volunteer some time in keeping this house of the Lord ready to welcome one and all.
Thanks to everyone who gives, works and prays for the upkeep of our church. May the Lord reward you for your care of his holy house in Spring Hill, Florida!
Thanks be to God for everything!
